Trail of the Painted Ponies

Painted Ponies is a collection of figurines based on the life-sized public art project called The Trail of Painted Ponies which first appeared in Santa Fe, USA in 2001. Intended to promote cultural tourism, the project enchanted hundreds of thousands of people, produced dazzling original artwork, and raised almost a million dollars for the local community. The Trail of Painted Ponies explores the inspirational power of the horse by giving artists the opportunity to paint and embellish elegantly designed horse sculptures, which are crafted into highly detailed, miniature resin and ceramic collectible figurines that honour the spirit and capture the power, beauty and magic of the original artworks. These miniature works of art are prized by collectors who appreciate artistry and fine craftsmanship. All Painted Ponies begin as original designs submitted by established and emerging artists, which are transformed into finely detailed hand-painted resin or ceramic decal figurines. The diversity of imagery means there are Painted Ponies that will appeal to everyone. Each Painted Pony comes included with a story about the inspiration for the artwork.
